Hubby and I took a little date night on Tuesday and we went to see the newest Batman movie.  I totally loved it.  I really liked Catwomen because I love strong, independent ladies.  It’s why I loved this and this book series.  If you are into reading that kind of book, I highly recommend them.  And please share if you do read them, the 2 things I could talk about endlessly are books and food.  What does all of this have to do with banana ice cream?  Nothing… I just wanted to share :)

Health highlight of bananas:  Bananas are known for being a good source of potassium.  Potassium is an important nutrient because it helps lower blood pressure, and is used in the process of muscle contraction and nerve communication.  It is also helpful in the balance of pH in the body, and so also can help prevent the loss of calcium.  Bananas are a good source of soluble fiber which helps to lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and can be helpful in the regulation of blood sugar.  Bananas have also been shown, because of the synergy of a few nutrients, to be very helpful in stomach upset.

Ingredients:

½ cup Chocolate Chips
2 frozen Bananas (sliced)
¼ cup fresh Mint leaves
2 tablespoons Water

 

Instructions:

  • Add all the ingredients to the bowl of your food processor
  • Run until smooth (you may need to scrape down once or twice)
  • The consistency should look like soft serve
  • Scoop it out and lounge it up!!
