Good Morning!!  I wanted to share these easy drinks with you, they are my beverages of choice for my gentle cleanse.  They that aid in detoxification and digestion.  Even if you aren’t cleansing, these are a wonderful addition to your routine.  Starting each day with the Lemon Tea is a simple way to improve your health!!

We are exposed to lots of substances in everyday life that our body needs to filter out.  Many refer to these as toxins.  It is why our body is equipped with ways to eliminate these substances (like the liver).  But sometimes a little help can keep the body running optimally.   For some, that can be as easy as incorporating a little lemon water daily!  Lemon helps to detox the liver.  Lemon juice also contains enzymes that can aid digestion.  Some people find when incorporating lemon water (especially before any food in the morning) they have improved sleep and weight loss.

Lemon Water / Tea
Serves: 1
 
Ingredients
  • Juice ¼ Lemon
  • 1 slice Lemon
  • 1½ cups Water
Instructions
Hot
  1. Bring the water to a boil
  2. Add the lemon juice and lemon slice to the water
  3. Allow to cool slightly and drink!!
Cold
  1. Combine all the ingredients
  2. Drink!!!

Ginger is a powerhouse little food.  It is very anti-inflammatory, and has been show to help prevent blood clots in the cardiovascular system.  It is also is believed to stimulate digestion, and help to aid cleansing of the colon.  Ginger tea is perfect for these colder months as ginger can promote circulation.  It also can boost your metabolism, promoting your body to use, instead of store, calories.

Ginger Tea
Serves: 1
 
Ingredients
  • 1 inch fresh Ginger (sliced)
  • 1½ cups water
Instructions
  1. Brink the water to a boil
  2. Add the ginger and allow to steep 5 minutes
  3. When cool enough to drink, drink up and enjoy!!
