February Round Up

I suppose being a short month contributes to it seeming to fly by so quickly.  It was a great one though!!  I still find myself writing 2012, but I’ll get a hang of it before Summer ;)

Favorite Recipe This Month:

Pecan Turtle Chia Pudding!!

Caramel Turtle Chia Pudding 1

Because I love anything chocolate.  Seriously, anything.  My Grandfather dipped broccoli in chocolate once and I gobbled it up.  I know it sounds weird, but it was actually really good!!

I thought hubby would pick either the Vegetarian Buffalo Salad, or Cheesy Oats, but surprisingly he picked the Blueberry Pancakes.  We do love pancakes in this house!! :)

Newsworthy Links:
A new study finds that eating a “diet rich in olive oil, nuts, beans, fish, fruits and vegetables, and drink wine with meals” you can reduce your risk for heart attacks and stroke by 30%!  Sounds like a sweet deal to me!! I know for a lot of people it’s not really news that the Mediterranean Diet is good for you, but this extensive study had pretty amazing results, and it showed that you need healthy fats in your diet.  I love it!!

My Favorite Things:

Ready for the randomness?

I got this alarm clock for us, and I’m really loving it.  Now Hubby and I can both see it, which is awesome.  My favorite part is that it sets to a Monday-Friday alarm schedule, so I never need to remember to turn it off or on for the weekend.  I have woken many a Sunday night panicked because I couldn’t remember if I had turned the alarm on.  These are always so weird and random, I know, but I love this thing!!

Also, watching this guy, I wish I could keep him :)

My Book of the Month:

Part of my new year’s resolution was to read a book every month.  I have been listening to and reading books lately (I really love listening to audiobooks while cleaning and cooking.)

Book:  The Indigo Spell

The latest of the Bloodlines series, The Indigo Spell, was my book this month.  It was incredible, as this whole series has been so far.  If you are interested in YA vampire romance novels (I’m trying really hard not to be slightly embarrassed typing that) this series is incredible.  It is a spin off from the Vampire Academy series, so if you would like to check out the books I would start there.  The first few books are a little juvenile, but they get sooooo good as you get further along in the series.  And this spin off series, Bloodlines, has been one of my favorite series of all times!!

Audiobook:  Beautiful Creatures

Hubby took me to see Beautiful Creatures (it was a fun little date night :)) and I realized that it’s been so long since I read that book that I didn’t really even remember what happened in it!!Turned out that was good for the movie because they strayed quite a bit from the book, and it not being fresh in my memory meant I didn’t pick apart every little thing.  But I am now re-listening to the book, and really loving it.  I don’t remember it being as good as I think it is this time!!

Blog Love:

I found a new blog I am obsessed with, OhMyVeggies.  She is awesome and her recipes are drool worthy, and her photos should be framed  and hung up around your house.  I realize I sound a little like a creepy stalker.  You should go check out her site though!!  I think you will be hooked too :)

Then, of course, I always love and regularly visit these!!
