I hope you guys are having a wonderful holiday season!! My family does our big Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve, and it was so much fun this year!! I ate lots of amazing food and got to hang with the family, which is my favorite!! I got to see some family that I don’t get to see very often and I loved catching up!! I’m looking forward to New Years celebrations!!!
Since you can’t do New Years without cocktails (that is just crazy talk) I have come up with a couple of super simple recipes (if you can even call them that) for healthy, fun, and festive drinks.
Sangria is a personal favorite of mine, but red wine makes me feel sleepy, and white wine makes me want to party.. so white wine it is for New Years Eve. My favorite part of sangria has to be the fruit after it soaks up all the goodness.
Health highlight of apples: Apples are amazingly healthy. The flavonoids in apples have been shown to reduce the risk of certain kinds of cancer. Apples have also been shown to sharpen your memory, and help protect against Alzheimer’s, asthma, and chronic cough. They are protective of your cardiovascular system, and have been linked with a reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. The skin is the most dense with nutrients, so leave it on, but opt for organic as apples are the produce found to have the highest pesticide residue.
